Cal Poly's Music Department presents "RSVP: Soundings," a captivating showcase by music technology and composition students. Collaborating with guest ensemble line upon line, a percussion trio known for championing the work of living composers and embracing musical exploration, the students will premiere original interdisciplinary works involving percussion, electronics and dance.
The program explores the influence of AI on music creation, examining its impact on culture, automation and sentience. Featured composers and artists include a talented lineup of Will Chant, Kamilee Costa, Ben Geil, Madison Holmes, Eli Lazar, Shay Lyon and many others.
The dancers, comprised of Cal Poly Theatre and Dance Department students and alumni, will showcase original choreography. Lead choreographer Evan Ricaurté, a Cal Poly graduate, brings his expertise to the performances.
This exceptional event merges creativity and innovation in a mesmerizing display of talent and artistry.
There is a second performance on Friday, June 2 at 7:30 p.m. in the Pavilion of the Performing Arts Center.
