Join the Cal Poly Arab Music Ensemble for their Spring Concert. Featuring a variety of music from different regions, including classic Iraqi songs and celebrated selections of Lebanese, Palestinian, Romanian, and Syrian music, this concert is not to be missed.
The program will include works by notable composers, poets and artists including Anton Pann Ensemble, Elias Rahbani, Fairuz, Marcel Khalife, and Nazem al-Ghazali. Additionally, the world premiere of "Al-Madrasa Al-Arabiyya," a composition by Arab Music Ensemble Director Ken Habib, will take place.
Guest artists Ishmael on qanun, Fathi Aljarrah on kamanja, and Faisal Zedan on riqq, daff, and darabukka will also make an appearance, showcasing their incredible talents.
To add to the already impressive lineup, the San Luis Obispo dance director Jenna Mitchell will lead the dance troupe in original choreography that interacts with the music.
Comprised of an orchestra and choir with vocal and instrumental soloists, the Arab Music Ensemble's membership ranges from various majors on campus to professions off-campus. Don't miss this incredible performance!
