PolyRhythmics, Cal Poly's percussion ensemble, will give its annual performance at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 14, in the Pavilion of the Performing Arts Center.
This year's concert will feature Sven-David Sandström's intensely thundering, drumming powerhouse, "Kroumata Pieces," as well as gentler, more impressionistic pieces such as Rob Sanderl's "Placid Landscapes," for four marimbas.
Music Department faculty member John Astaire is the ensemble's director.
Tickets are $22 for the public and $12 for students, and are sold at the Cal Poly Ticket Office between noon and 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. To order by phone, call (805) SLO-4TIX (756-4849). Event parking is sponsored by the PAC.
The concert is sponsored by Cal Poly’s Music Department. For more information, call the Music Department at (805) 756-2406 or visit the department’s calendar website.
