The Office of University Diversity & Inclusion presents the annual BEACoN Research Scholars Symposium. This inspiring and enriching event highlights the exceptional research projects undertaken by student and faculty teams from all 6 Academic Colleges.
The BEACoN Research Mentoring Program is dedicated to empowering and advocating for underrepresented students. This program offers funded undergraduate research opportunities, allowing selected students to work closely with faculty mentors during winter and spring quarters. This enables student participants to gain valuable research experience and participate in professional development events within the BEACoN Program.
The symposium serves as a platform to celebrate the achievements of these student researchers and their collaborative projects. The event commences with insightful remarks from Dr. Denise Isom, Vice President of Diversity & Inclusion, Dr. Kelly Bennion, BEACoN Research Faculty Fellow, as well as past and current BEACoN Research Scholars. Attendees will then have the opportunity to engage with the researchers and mentors, gaining valuable insights from their projects.
