Alyssa Monks, based in Brooklyn, New York, specializes in large oil paintings and is recognized both in the United States and Europe. She creates photorealistic paintings exploring the often-hidden emotions within us all through semi-transparent filters of glass, vinyl, steam, and water.
Monks’s paintings have been the subject of numerous solo and group exhibitions at the Kunst Museum in Germany and at the National Academy Museum of Fine Arts, New York. Her work is also represented in a number of in public and private collections. Monks was recently named among the most influential women artist alive today by Graphic Design Degree Hub. In 2018, several of her pieces were featured in the popular television series The Americans.
