An Annual Celebration of light and hope
The SLO Jewish community continues its annual tradition of lighting the public menorah outside the Old Mission of San Luis Obispo de Tolosa each night of Hanukkah at 5:00PM from Nov. 28 through Dec.5.
The first night’s candle will be lit by Mayor, Erica Stewart. On this night, Hanukkah festivities at the Mission will include making candy menorahs, Hanukkah sweets and treats, dreidel spinning contests, prayers, songs, and fun. All members of the SLO community are invited to join in and celebrate.
Lightings on nights two through eight at the SLO Mission will be led by various area congregations and Jewish organizations and representatives.
The event will be live-streamed on the JCC-Federation of SLO Facebook page each night. Each menorah lighting will be a COVID responsible event that follows the County of San Luis Obispo Health Department COVID guidelines.
Please email or call the JCC at 805-426-5465 if you have questions. Visit the event website for more details.
