Cal Poly’s Pier Open House, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 15, has been canceled due to forecasted rain and a high surf advisory. Event coordinators want to ensure all guests, staff, and volunteers can enjoy a safe, positive experience when visiting the pier and the predicted weather conditions unfortunately disrupted this year’s event plans.
The Center for Coastal Marine Sciences looks forward to holding the traditional event at the pier in Avila Beach in 2026 and will keep the community informed about the fall 2026 Pier Open House event date and planning.
